A Bar fitting..
Having just bought a soft A Bar off eBay, I suspect for the price I paid there will be no fitting kit supplied with it.
Does anyone know if these are still available, and if so from where ? Or is it a case of making one up..

Hi, the top brackets are available from Flatdog. I've recently swapped mine and fitted a winch, so nothing to mount to, so I've bolted it to the bumper with some big washers on the inside. It's been on for about a week and it's been fine.Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

There are two types of "A" bars, one with holes in the lower part and the other without. This means two different mounting kits. The kit for the bar with holes is non existent any more unless you are lucky, the other can still be purchased. A member on this site (GStuart) may have enough details for you to make a kit up.

Unfortunatly the manufaturer of the soft a-bars no longer exsists and brackets are really hard too come by
as Pwheeldon said Flatdog do replacment metal top brackets ( see picture of what they look like, they are sided too for the curve of the bonnet, i fitted them to my soft nudge bar as the original plastic ones snap when you look at them funny).
The bottom backets are the ones you cannot find, they are an angled peice of metal and attach too the metal crash bumper at the front of the chassis , people never take them off when selling the a bar as too get them you need to take off the front bumper to expose the matal crash bumper behind it, if you got it front a discovery 3 someone was breaking id go back and get the brackets from the discovery, if not then you will have to do what pwheeldon said and use some bolts and big washers to attach them too the plastic bumper. (see picture below , the brackets are the ones in the top right corner)

Scubble, that kit you show is for the later bar that does not have the holes in it. The one with holes has long bolts, sleeves and other bits.

Which soft a bar are you on about? I thought there was only one sort ( with or without bottom bar for the winch) and they have the same mounting bracket ( the sort in the picture)

No there are two types, an early one and the later one. The kit is for the later one. Yours looks like the early one with four holes in it at the lower section.

I'm confused now, I thought they were all the same, only differing depending winch or no winch.
Mine has four mounting holes at the bottom.

I have the 2005 one and it has the same mountings as above. First picture is the top mounting kit and second picture is the lower mounting kit. As far as I know there is only one type for the D3 and a different one for the D4, the D4 one doesn't go down the bumper as far and doesn't have the 4 bolts at the bottom:

Sorry for confusing you :oops, i have looked for a better picture of the bottom brackets but cannot find one.
Mine is the same with the 4 holes and i can confirm it is those brackets in the bottom picture of my original post are the ones you need, but really they are like hens teeth too find especially on their own so pwheeldons solution is your best bet with some long bolts and big washersDiscovery 3 - Black SE with HSE upgrade

Here is a picture of the early "A" bar kit for a bar with the four holes in the lower section. Note the spacers and bolts. The new bar and kit is as shown higher up

Thanks for all the help. It doesn’t look like I’ll find anything, so probably time to manufacture something

Think I’d be asking myself, “is this something I really want to fit?”
You’ve got a nice D3, specced up to look like a MY14 facelift D4.
By adding the A Frame, it’ll be back to looking like a D3.
Not that there’s any issue with that, it’s just it seems to go against what you’ve been previously trying to achieve.
Good luck with the fitting kit if you still pursue it.
