Castrol BOT 720

I’m ordering lubricants to do fluid changes in my front and rear (locking) differentials. LR shop manual specifies Castrol Carbon Mod Plus for the rear locking diff, however after significant research I have discovered that was replaced by Castrol BOT 720 around 2015.

Castrol BOT 720 is running $60/L here and there is no reference to it on the Castrol website —has it been superseded again? I’ve noticed the price on fluids tends to jump significantly when no longer available, and $60/L seems excessive, even for Land Rover! 2008 LR3 HSE, 4.4L V8

I think a more recent LR spec for this oil is LR019727. Here in Europe I use RAVENOL MDL, $25/L. My impression of this oil is that of a not too heavy differential oil with diff brake additive.

The Ravenol will be good for future reference. 2008 LR3 HSE, 4.4L V8
