Hi All,
Does anyone know where the warning bing'bong speaker is located in the dashboard please.
The one that goes off when a highly visible warning light comes on.
Mine is currently begging to be displayed externally or hung as a trophy from the rear view mirror
Thanks in advance. 2006 D3 aka Lipstick (bad purchase) my daily.
2012 D4 aka Fiji (wife named it) only drive to the garage/mot station.
2003 L200 aka Miss Piggy, faded blotchy red pink, currently sat in naughty corner in disgrace due to a knocking bottom end (It was the cheapest 4x4 when i bought it)

It’s part of the instrument dials.
That speaker also does front park sensors, indicator tick tock. So you would loose it all. A bit of silicon or something may quieten it

It's on the IPC (Instrument panel) circuit board. top LHS behind the rev counter.
I happened across an article on how to replace it at some point, and I remember thinking if mine failed, I would probably regard it as an upgrade
EDIT : Obviously Pete K types faster than I do. Good idea though, it's a self contained module on the PCB, so if you pop the back cover off the IPC (easy) and covered half the slots in the speaker module with insulting tape, it would probably help a lot.

I never thought about silicone, I like the sound of that one.

Ha-Ha yeah, definitely a failure if it fails but knowing my luck it'll be the one part that never brakes

There is multiple things wrong and I haven't got the time to get it all done straight away, plus I dislike laying on wet tarmac/black top/pavement in the winter months and its always dark when i'm with it.
The problem is a wire/sensor and not a dangerous defective part, so more of an irritant to me.
Besides, I just hate that tone.
Like I said, a light that I can see, yes totally, but a bing bong every half a mile of a 200 mile gets a little bit distracting, hence wanting to remove and hang as a trophy on the rear view mirror, so I can get that feeling of I WON every time it swings 2006 D3 aka Lipstick (bad purchase) my daily.
