Tree sliders Raptor coat

Have a set of Shire rock/tree sliders currently on my Disco but after a year or so of use they are looking tired and starting to rust which is a well known issue with these.

I’m looking to get them Raptor coated and want to know if there is anyone in the Teesside/North East who would be able to do this?

Cheers MJD 3

Had mine Raptored, SWMBO’s Line-X’d, the line-X has fared better, the other + is that it sets within minutes vs a week for Raptor (advantage Raptor for touching up at home).

Needing my Shire sliders done too, but looking at the bolts they supply (torque head on soft metal bolt), I’m imagining I’ll have trouble getting them off…..it takes just one dodgy bolt to screw everything up.

My plan is that a few weeks before my service (due early May), I’ll take the D4 to my LR Indie, get them to take them off and let them sort out the powder coating (as they rebuild/refresh old LRs).
But I will ask them about availability of a raptor or line-x coating.

Then when I take my D4 for its service, get them to put the newly coated sliders back on ….. using decent bolts!

Well, that’s the plan anyway. Rolling Eyes

Thanks Paul that’s brilliant, Darlo is just down the road from me as well, I’ll give them a shout.
Ronp I’ve got the disco in for some work shortly and need the sliders off to check the cills for rust, while it’s in I’ll get the sliders taken to get coated which gets two birds with one stone.

As they said in the A team “I like it when a plan comes together”

Thanks gents.

I didn’t like the bolts that came with my sliders so ordered some of these along with the same spec washers… will hopefully do the job!

My Line-X sliders are still as good as the day I got them from you, Paul. Very impressive stuff!
