Window trim pulled off in the wind

Good morning Disco Legends

Had a spot of bother on the A19 over the weekend.

Was travelling up the road doing about 65 driving into the wind and all of a sudden there was a bang and the plastic cover on the corner of the windscreen popped off and was flapping about bouncing off the wing mirror.

I pulled over and took the pic attached. Couldn't see any damage and it popped back into place again, and felt sturdy.

Back up the A19 and a couple of miles later, it did it again. So, i ended up window down, arm out the window, holding it in place until I got home (flipping freezing on the hand!)

Again I've popped it back on and it feels sturdy again, and driving round town without wind and not at 65 mph....it's not happened again.

So, any ideas what I need to check, replace have a look at?

Thanks in advance!

👍

New clips should sort it, but didn't with mine, so put gaffer tape over the holes, punched a hole through into the hole and then pushed clips in.

Problem solved, however not sure how easy it will be to remove in the event I need a screen.

Had this happen to me before.

We were just discussing it a few days ago.
