iCarSoft LR 3.0 - Steering Angle Sensor Recalibrate a Disco3 |
|
Hi,
Anyone know if the new iCarsoft LR 3.0 allows you to re-calibrate the Steering Angle Sensor on a Discovery 3 as I think my HDC issues are pointing to this as an issue?
- C1B00 - Vehicle dynamics control module -> steering angle sensor
Also using my i930 I can see a value of around 50-60 degrees I would have expected 0..?! How does the SAS work if I drive down the road for half a mile the HDC lights come on? Does it detect if the SAS is out of kilter for a small period of time or distance it engages Limp Mode (for safety)?
That aside I currently have an i930 but can't scan later models of the Discovery Sport (which the missus is in the process of buying) and only allows read/clear DTC's so think this would be a good investment...
Any advice/experience greatly appreciated
Cheers
BoB

Hi Bob,
Did you resolve this issue?
I have the iCarsoft LR2 and keep attempting the the SAS recalibrate option to no avail. My SAS angle contiuously reads at 5773.50 degrees and never resets to 0 after the recalibrate.
Angle sensor ring was only slightly loose, which i have now glued, but still have various dash warning lights. continuously have the fault C0051 - Steering wheel position sensor.

Hi keleon1473,
Yes, it solved it for me, mine was showing 50-60 degrees instead of 0 as soon as I recalibrated back to zero with the icarSoft LR3 the problem went away for me.
Sounds like maybe your actual sensor is up the swanny
Maybe worth replacing?
Cheers

Probably a bit late, but yes the icarsoft LR v3.0 does calibrate the SAS...however, it is worth checking the SAS on the steering column first (get you head behind the brake pedal and look up!), as there are lots of reports of the plastic collar coming loose. I positioned mine back to nearly straight before gluing it in position and then calibrated, and it's been fine since.

Check your tyre pressures first. I had tc coming on and turned out to be a slow puncture. 1996 Defender -died (now in landrover heaven😇)chassis to ashes , rust to dust !
