Excessive smoking
I noticed yesterday that my D3 has started smoking excessively. This does not happen all the time - only when the engine is "under stress" i.e on acceleration on an uphill etc. Also noticed that this only occurs when I press the accelator past the half way (approximate) mark. She has done 148 000 km's. Any prognosis/suggestions/ideas before I take her to a Dealer? Thanks

OK...assuming that there isn't a big power loss at low revs, then the intercooler hose being split or delaminated sounds like a good bet and is very easy to check...
They usually fail at the top before the admission chamber - have a feel around the tube and see if you notice anything strange or try squeezing it and see if it feels very pliable...2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

As PaulP says, 99% certain it's the intercooler hose.
Follow the hose down with your hands and you will find it.CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

Maybe the engine requires some relaxation therapy, or meditate a bit. This may result in the D3 cutting down on the ciggies a bit. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Hose "10" as per the diagram. Right at the top, it's a split that you can only see if you squeeze the pipe.
