In that case, I think that is the way I would go if I had problems. The valve only has a small effect on emissions and will not cause an MOT failure. I have just been through over two years of trouble with a C-Max 2.0 TDCi, now finally resolved. Blanking was not an option in this instance.

Yet another one on the EGR valve waiting list

Hi,

Started loosing power pulling away from junctions / roundabouts and the like whilst on holiday in Norfolk. Into the dealers in Norwich to see what was happening. Diagnosis EGR valves stuck open?! Parts on back order not sure when it will be fixed. So back home in hire car a Nissan Pathfinder -ARGHH! glad I got a Disco the Nissan is rough!

Does anyone know typical delivery times for these EGR valves?

The fact that jmoores has done 10000's of miles with his valves blanked, and had no apparent problems, makes me think that this does not apply to the V6 engine?

I think it has more to do with the emissions spec of the engine, EuroIV spec cars (MY07 onwards IIRC) put the caution light on where earlier Euro3 cars just log a fault - if that.

I´ve just done 500miles with the valves blanked and no faults logged (this inc the butterfly valve removed + a further 250 before that with just the butterfly valve removed), I think if it was going to trigger a fault code it would have done it by now.
 Cheers
