| D3 Low Coolant Level Warning |

Hi Disco Gang,
I have a Low Coolant Warning on the dash on my D3 56 plate.
I read loads of threads re the sensor failing so ordered one in the hope this would fix the fault, I have replaced today without removing the tank fully, I kind of assumed I would get coolant come out of the bottom of the tank while removing but nothing so I assume this is a dry sensor in a sleeve in the bottom of the tank OR am I very much mistaken and that there is a blockage?
I have voltage there so I am assuming not a power issue.
Anyway result is that the new sensor has made no difference, still get the warning on the dash.
Should I fully remove the tank so I can get a better view? Was just trying to save a little time by fully removing if it is just something I am missing.
Any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong would be appreciated.
I have added a picture of said sensor for reference 8 quid off eBay for anyone looking for the same.

You are correct that the sensor is dry.
If it has made no difference then there may be sludge or a blockage actually in the tank which is stopping the sensor from reading.
2 options are take the tank out and try cleaning it out ( but it’s quite hard to get right to the bottom of it where the sensor actually reads from) or, for the sake of about £30 odd, get a new tank and fit.
An easy job, made much easier by taking the extra 5 minutes to remove the nsf headlight. 2005 Disco3 HSE Auto 😁

It is not the sensor but the float in the bottle in 99% of the cases...... Citroen DS23IE

+1 for floating element in the bottle

Thanks guys for the feedback, tank ordered.
Also I assume that Low Coolant is not linked to an Engine Fault message coming up, that is a separate issue? I have that appearing on and off, will get it in to the garage for them to read it if it is not linked.
