Injector pipes

Can I take the injector pipes off the injectors - I'm replacing the leak off pipes and it would make my job easier.
Or would it cause problems, and would I need to bleed the system ?

Thanks

The metal ones.

I’ve not had any problems removing them.

Your probably meant to replace them. But no one does

I don't know your level of experience here but you can take them off. There's a few conditions which need to be observed, especially if you're not used to working on high pressure systems.

Clean thoroughly around the unions as any ingress of dirt will problematic if not catastrophic for the injectors.

Mark each pipe and photo to make sure each is returned to its original position.

On the actual injector, you need to hold the union coupler in place whilst undoing the pipe union!!

By right, the pipe unions should be renewed, but if you're careful you can get away with reusing the old ones. Cover the exposed unions to prevent any foreign debris entering. Do not overtighten the unions, and after start up keep well away from it in case any leaks have sprung. VERY HIGH PRESSURE, and it can hurt you badly if it comes into contact with you!

Switch off and wait 30 seconds for the pressure to drop before you now inspect for leaks. Bleeding will happen without intervention.
