Ok thanks guys wish I had tome to do it the last few days it’s been cold.
Over half a tank and I’ll order a remote now. Wether it needs repairing or not I need it working haha

If it does not work first time, do not get disappointed. Try a few things first, like blowing some air in the intake... I does make a difference.
Not sure if everyone agrees, but I did what I described here https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/post2191737.html#2191737 and worked just fine.
I read somewhere (I think webasto service manual) that over time the CO2 sensor can get strange and ideally should be re-calibrated. Perhaps the extra air blow at first increase the amount of oxygen tricking the sensor... not sure yet.

Turning the webasto into a parking heater is a definite winner.
Though I'm fairly certain I upset mine when I used it with the fuel light on.

I fitted a variable resistor in line with temp sensor cos im cheap and didnt want to pay the £40+ for a remote start. I can manually turn the temp down to whatever. I suppose downside is I have to have the engine running but not really an issue as I like my heated seats on too 8)

Why do you want the heater running before 4C I assume ?
It runs plenty when cold

I find a wet and windy 7c day can be as cold as 1-5c and obviously a temp sensor doesnt account for windchill factor, where as a radiator does. It also eliminates that funny 5c zone where the heater (at least in my case) cant decide if it wants to start or not. Last and probably least, the engine gets up to temp quicker on short <10c journeys. Might cost more in fuel but my logic is, its better for the engine and therefor extends its life.
