TPMS replacement guidance |
|
Good day everyone.
Today I purchased my new, to me, 2007 LR3 HE fully loaded.
It has a few things i need to handle but I'm new to the rover world and it is my first experience with non German cars. there are some interesting things i've been learning over the past few weeks reading in rover forums.
Straight to the point: The TPMS light is on.
i checked the car and 2 of 4 valve stems are rubber.
To me this means that there are 2-3 missing. (spare, maybe)
now...
i went on ebay and i bought 4 - 315MHz sensors for LR3 fitment, some aftermarket brand.
315Mhz for North American spec vehicles.
Now my confusion is whether i need to have a tool or not to program them.
I figured if i just put them in and drive the recommended time and distance it will self program?
Am I wrong or not?

I'm not sure if the systems differ over the years - but on my 2014 D4 the garage had to pump the tyres up well above the normal pressure and then drop them back down again to get them to register. The 4 garages i had been to before didnt know what to do.
