Bought a 2006 s type to replace the engine in my disco, how do I know if it has the stronger oil pump on it?

Hi Farmer Joe, there’s loads of threads on the oil pump, but if you take a look at this one it’s got the picture of old & new pumps, new has extra support either side of the tension wheel attachment

if it hasn't been replaced then get the new pump.

While the engines out i would replace it anyway for peace of mind, the oil pressure isnt great on these engines at the best of times.

The engine does not have to come out to fit a new oil pump etc...
