Hey (agaiiiin)
I’ve had an inspection and it appears to be moving fine. Also can hear an electrical Buzzing when the ignition is on. And ignition off the arm moves about 10 times. In time with the egr plug that spins.
No oil or splits down below.
😭😭😭😭😭 So I’ve tried the egr, map, maf, turbo pipe, arm.
It seems to be fine On the dash until it is running. No warning lights come up. Just says engine system.
Literally the day after it came out of a £1700 bill. The absolute last of my money.
Surely I can figure this out without another rediculous bill😅

Hiya
Know it can be frustrating at times
Ref the actuator arm, what can sometimes happen is the arm doesn’t travel the full motion that it’s suppose to , spraying and with the made up tool u can feel if it’s reaching at the very end of its travel , by pushing and pulling it whilst spraying within that area , ur soon feel if it’s sticking
Plus did u check that the butterfly valve had been removed within the throttle body
It might be a good idea to get a cheap diagnostics reader like an Autel AP200 for around £50.00 or ask very nicely on the forum if someone is near u that may plug there reader in for u
That way ur at least see what codes are coming up
But in the mean time , check the butterfly valve and also the turbo actuator is travelling the full motion thats it’s suppose to do
Hope that’s helps

Such a weird thing. It’s randomly driving fine again now. I’ll try again in the morning. Hopefully whatever I did has worked
Thanks again
I do have an obd reader but it says egr a fault code

Hi
Ur so welcome
Maybe you’ve freed off the turbo actuator arm
Assume both egr valves still have there electrical connectors plugged in, left mine plugged in, plus as there both blanked doesn’t matter if egr vault codes come up
Of course need to ensure that butterfly valve has been removed
Hope that helps

Very odd! Wouldn’t work again this morning
I disconnected the left side egr plug, and then it drives fine!?
Are the egr valves supposed to be completely unplugged as well as capped off?

Hiya
Personally when I done mine I -
Left both egr electrical plugs connected
Removed butterfly valve from inside throttle body , re installing butterfly valve pin
Fitted blanks onto each side of the engine block , refitted egr pipes
Cleaned inside of the throttle body and Map sensor , refitted and plugged map sensor back in
Maybe if the egrs are faulty it causes an error ????
Hopefully someone else can verify that for u as personally didn’t have any issues
Hope that helps

Ok thanks
So by your knowledge is it correct to leave the egr plugs disconnected completely?

My EGR's have been blanked for 11 years now, Plugs are still connected and i haven't had any issues. If they are correctly blanked and the butterfly removed then it shouldn't matter whether they are disconnected or not. Stu

Hi again and updating - unplugged the egr plug sockets and the problem has stopped!
However I’m having trouble finding the gap iid for less than £500 grrrr
Do you know of any other d3 diagnostic tools please? I see a few LR ones on eBay but im not wanting to purchase one unless it’s recommended by a d3 user.

Hi mine came blanked. However still causing problems so the egr was literally unplugged. There’s an oval shape plug on both egrs. Mine is 2005 as well which was ok to do apparently

Thanks. Mine is identical hence following with interest! Will find the oval connector!
Found them now, going to be a little dismantling to disconnect the left one!
