| Red warning light and hello |
|
Just picked up D3. First post too so I apologise. Has a red warning light at the bottom car with 3 waves in it. Anyone have any ideas??

Some have programmed this light to show the headlights are on.
So may not be anything to worry about

Its an option you can install if you had Gap lld diagnostics. I wouldnt mind having a light on the dash to show that the lights are on but wouldnt want a red light.

It's originally the Webasto (FBH) operation lamp, but it was never used on the production cars.
Later instrument packs had a green side lights lamp in the same place, when the instrument pack software is upgraded on early cars (e.g. to add the clock in the centre display) then the FBH lamp is triggered with the side lights.
There is, I believe, a special software version around which adds the clock but doesn't trigger the FBH lamp for side lights. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
