Auto gearbox help please ,lost all drive
Lost all drive on my 2005 Auto 122k miles few days ago.
I was driving the car within my town and I parked it home then after 4 days I suddenly lost all drive. Engine revving and running fine but no drive forward or reverse, tried sport & command mode on the gearbox but no change.
No faults on Dash or any warnings just no drive. Also, when I move the gear lever back to Park with engine running I he a clonking noise a bit like trying to change gear and when selecting D or R pressing the accelerator, the engine seems to lose power. Any help would be great.

Firstly check the linkage on the side of the gearbox. If good, check the fluid level.

Dear bro,
Thank you for your quick reply and assistance.I will check and revert back you and one more thing I would like to know is from where or how can I check the fluid level of the gearbox? I have got my Disco3 last year from UK replacing my LR2 and I'm still getting familiar to it. The service was done in Kampala on the way to my town. Hope this will help.

There is a level plug on the side of the gearbox (lefthand side on the righthand drive)
The gearbox oil needs to be hot and the engine running. If its low you top it up through the same hole.
Check the wiring connector at the back of the gearbox for leaks.

HI,
Video here regarding the linkage
You wont be able to tell by looking, it seizes up, mine looked fine but had very limited movement and. You may get a result by lots of penetrating oil, but they are quite a cheap part and easy to fit so possibly worth a try even as a precaution.
Good luck.Disco 3: Lotus Elise S1: Ferguson T20: Audi A2

Do not know if this will fix your problem as you have not checked the fluid level.

Apologies in advance, but I simply can’t resist this opportunity....
Have you tried putting some diesel in it?

I have added the fuel diesel. My disco 3 has grounded for more than 4 months since I lost all drive and today the mechanic guy fixed by TCU as attached here in the picture. When staring a car all those all alarms came up on my previous pictures. Your guidance and help will be highly appreciated
Thank you and hope hearing form you soon.

I’m assuming not quite dry as the engine is running from the rev counter.
