Fuse box refitting

I have removed the fuse box in the passenger footwell to deal with a perished sun roof drain. Anyone got any advice on refitting the plugs back on the rear of the fuse box when refitting. I am at the point of considering cutting a few fingers off to get my hand in behind it 👉 😂

Any advice gratefully accepted 🤔

It's been a while since I did mine. I think I put the top one on first so that you don't have to hold the CJB up. Whatever you do DON'T locate the CJB upper lugs, leave it dangling. This should give you just enough room to get your hand up the back to attach the 2 rear connectors (red and green ISTR). You don't need a great deal of strength to do this so if your hands are too big then maybe SWMBO or a youngster may be able to help. The rear connectors are different in shape so there's no danger of putting them in the wrong holes. There was a joke that LR must have known there would be water in this area as they coloured the 2 rear connectors after port and starboard navigation lights but I think they attach the other way round - green on the left and red on the right as you look at the front of the CJB.
Before starting, familiarise yourself with how the connector handle closes, sliding into position in the CJB and locking it in place. There's no forcing required, once it's lined up and square (you can't see this but you can feel that it's where it should be) the handle can be closed and the connector slides into position.
Have some plasters ready, there'll be claret. Hope this helps.

Putting a bit of string around the rear plug latches. Can’t remember why. To hold the latches up and open I think.

2. When you think you have finished the rear plugs. Put a mirror up the back.
If you can see red on the plugs they aren’t fully in.

Take the 2 small relays out of the bottom right corner

Gives a tiny bit more space which is invaluable Thumbs Up

Do what Landrover did, take the CJB and place it on your drive. Then rebuild the vehicle around it!
