Low performance (gas pedal insensitive).

Hello, I am new owner of 2005 land rover discovery3 car.

So I`m experiencing very low performance from my 2.7 TDV6 S discovery 3 with manual 6speed gearbox.

From 800 to ~2500 RPM car is good, but after 2500 RPM gas pedal become insensitive and dosen`t matter in which gear i`m at, 2nd or 4th it speed up at same rate, about 1km per 3sec.

Went to computer reading service and they told me that engine is working with no problems, but 2 sensors are showing wierd numbers.

1. fuel rail temperature before FMEM substitution is -41 °C
2. supplementary engine coolant temperature is -40 °C

Can this cause low performance? What is the solution to this? Change the sensors, or there is something more? If anyone know something about this, please, share. I will be gratefull.

much love!

Hi Arturs,

I also have some kind of problem, only in my case its all in the opposite way, slow on response under 2000 rpm, but my readings are hot instead of cold in your case. The only difference is my other coolant and engine oil readings are ok. When the coolant is 9°C the fuel temp readings are 74°C.
So there is some 60°C difference with the actual temp when cold.
Maybe there is some kind of relation in this problem.

In this link you see my post, maybe its of any help to you.

As this system is "fly by wire" you need to be sure that a full push on accelerator actually fully opens
throttle body as pedals are known to fail

I had the same issue with my '05 and it turned out to be a dodgy EGR blanking problem. Previous owner used some dodgy garage to blank the EGR's and over time the blanking plates burned away because they hadn't fixed the valves open/shut or something. Replacing the blanking plates and a quick blip on the IID sorted the problem a treat, and it was a cheap fix too Very Happy
