D3 to d4.5 headlight wiring help |
|
Just completed my d3 (2005 hse) to d4.5 conversion and struggling to find the Information I'm after regarding headlight wiring .
So far I've disabled the adaptive lights on my iid tool and that's turned off any error messages and have now wired a ignition live up to pin 8 to get the drls working ,
My 2 problems are , Indicators are flashing fast inside ,but fine on outside , I know this is down to the LEDs being fitted , I've got d4.5 rear lights with the resistors fitted and have been told I can just fit bigger resistors to them? If so any idea on size ?
Second problem is full beam is not working with the headlights off , I've read I need to fit a relay does anyone have any more info on this or a wireing diagram to show what's needed , cheers

How did you sort the fast indicator flash? Did you fit bigger resistors to the rear lights?
Also, have you got the DRL’s working?

I've fitted the same resistors to the fronts as the rears have , and yes the drls are working , wired a 12v ignition supply to pin 8

Great, thanks.
Do your DRL’s dim when the indicators come on?

Does this ccf change make the high beam flashing work on the D3 also?

It’s annoying for me if it does as I had a relay wired in to fix the problem on mine! And I’ve got an IID tool.....

I haven't just lived with it. Only wired up the DRLs so far. Hope someone will try it out, I almost crap my pants last time I did ccf changes, so don't dare doing it without serious reason

I’m the same, don’t like doing then unless absolutely necessary!
How did you wire up your DRL’s? Just by adding an ignition live?

No, used the smog sensor feed. Like the look that it comes on when unlocking the car. And stays on after. Also used a double relay, so it kills the DRLs when turning on the side lights.

Also turned off the Scandinavian and Canadian light setting, so in auto mode it acts like "new cars". Front drl in daylight and Normal lights in night.
