Cam Locking pin stuck fast
HELP. Can’t pull the locking pin out - I can just about rotate it with some grips but won’t pull out.
Tried rotating the crank and slackening the three pulley bolts but nothing

Might I suggest you clamp a pair of mole grips to it, furthest away from the timing wheel and GENTLY tap the jaw of the grips towards the radiator
As long as you have not used it to lock the timing wheel and then torque tightened any of the bolts (a big no-no when you look at the correct procedure), it should withdraw.
Good luck "Track day running - Don't put your foot back on the accelerator until your absolutely sure you don't have to take it off again"

Gave the grips and tapping another go - no joy!
What are the implications of taking the centre bolt off (obviously locking the crank and removing the belt) and removing the whole cam sprocket?

Can you get the jaws of a pry bar or claw hammer onto it and VERY gently try and prise it out
or even better 2 pry bars or 2 hammers one either side

Don’t undo the big bolt.
Put some wd40 in there.
Get the grips on it.
Jiggle that bolt (with big spanner) slightly back and fourth while trying to pull the pin out.
You should get a feel for which way makes is looser.

Don't do that
Loosen the 3x 13mm bolts, and turn the 18mm bolt to relieve pressure on the pin, then retorque My D3 Build Thread

Too busy at work at the mo and it’s pitch black when I get home. Out Saturday but I have Sunday booked as completion day - weather permitting.

those hammers don't look big enough and lacking metal content
Don't know what to suggest, apart from removing the belt and starting again.
mark the troublesome pin, and swap left to right when you reinstall

Think it’s time to call the low loader in. Such as shame as the rest of the job was so easy. I’ve now spent longer trying to remove the pin than the entire rest of the job put together

It’s out! The mention of a low loader and it fell on the floor
Couple of pry bars helped and I’ve ripped a tendon in elbow. Worth it!
