Introduction and my first modification
Firstly, Hello everyone. I’m very greatfull to your wealth of communal knowledge and have lurked for far too long.
Purchased a Disco3 S last month in Tonga Green. Very happy with it. It’s got various age related marks and trivial problems but all in all very tidy and healthy.
After having a disco 300tdi and then a 2015 Defender on lease for 4 years I’ve landed on a disco and plan to over service it for some (hopefully) extra reliability.
Fitted an quick oil drain ball valve and (to some people’s disgust im sure) made an access hole in the sump guard. Planning on sub 4000 mile oil changes. Worked a treat on my 300tdi.
Keep doing what your doing guys. Glad to join you.
Ben

Hi, welcome!
Stahlbus ! I Love these kits also! I use them on my private motorcycles for regular and easy oil changes
Good idea for the LR, why didn’t I think of that myself.🙈Best regards
Harold

I've had one on the D3 for about 3 oil changes now and I love it. It's a bit slower to drain than just popping the plug out, but by the time I've done the other lube and inspections it's all done.
I did think about putting an access panel in, but with a pneumatic ratchet the bash plate comes off so quickly it wasn't worth the hassle. I also didn't want to leave a large hole in the plate.
