Very rock & rolly night, I’m starting to wonder if this train will make it all the way! I’m glad we booked our train travel on the G type high speed trains in China, not the slower overnight ones. These trains make Vietnam Railways journeys seem smoooooth.

We had a little exercise running to the top of our train, then when running back SWMBO wanted to keep pace with the now moving freight train. Which we did, for a little while.

PPS Been over a couple of big rivers today where they streams into them are freezing over and the rivers have started to freeze at the edges.

Last time I was in Russia - several trips almost 30 years ago - they were mostly snotty as anything and I swore I'd never go back

Not had many dealings but some smiled, most didn’t. Refraining from being controversial!
Another CCCP loco. They love their old relics, like these carriages! Also saw a T-34 tank (another I Spy ..... T) and a couple of what looked like Foxbats or Foxhounds flying over earlier. Lovely spot.
