Sorry to pester,
I’ve just tested continuity, and five of the seven pins show as earth. Two show nothing, but of the five that show earth two also show current when tested, on for brake light one for rear lights. I don’t know if that makes sense, but any advice would be great,

If your doing continuity checks on resistance most will show connection thru the car bulbs to earth.
Was it the indicators that did not read anything ?

Hi Pete,
Nothing I can see, will get a test lamp set up and see what’s going on tomorrow. None of the wiring diagrams seem to match up. Thanks tho.

Here's a pic of the fuses that Pete mentioned, do you have these? If not then that part of the loom may not be genuine. The two socket looms should plug in behind the rear light. They plug into the loom with the fuses.

I don’t have the fuses, but I’m sure it’s genuine. Going to check it all now will report back. Are the fuses part of the car, or the loom?

Fuses are part of the genuine loom. Twin electrics should come in 3 parts, the two sockets with their loom and plugs and the loom with fuses which plugs in inside the cubby hole and passes out behind the rear light where it plugs into the other two.Stu

The looms I have are in three pieces, and all have Land Rover stickers on, but there are no fuses. However I have traced everything back and found nothing really matched. I’ve bodged it together at the moment, and it’s now working
I know it’s a bit rough looking, I will do it properly before I need to use it, and have disconnected it.
Still can’t understand why it wasn’t right as all the plugs fitted, and everything was the right length, but there we go, even the trailer light comes on the dash when indicating. Thanks for everyone’s input, would have struggled otherwise

Not sure, they must be to do with the caravan setup. The car plug with six pins I assumed would be the trailer hookup + the earth would make seven. But the other plug with three pins in were the indicators and permanent live. I only needed four connections, brakes, lights and two for the indicators, very strange but at least it works. How would you recommend doing the connections properly? Solder and heat shrink, or another? Thanks again. Lee
