2.7 V6 Longevity?
Hi All
Need some advice and guidance.....I have found a 2008 HSE 2.7 for sale....has 225kms on the clock, history is dealer service until 160km in 2014. Have been looking at the service book and receipts over the last few days, current owner gave them to me so that I could see what I thought. Car has a number of mods, long range aux fuel tank, bull bar, winch, rear draws, spare tyres carrier, radio, after market gps and reverse camera, jerry can carrier, rooftop tent, fridge.....she is carrying a fair amount of weight and from what I can see from receipts most work from early on.
Receipts show that compressor replaced and trany pan and filter done.....no mention of belts in the history, which is on concern.
I want to use the car for outback touring with my young family.
My question is about the life expectancy of the 2.7......before major work can be expected......is 225km, about 140 miles...what is the collective experience of the Disco3 owners?
All feedback welcome.

It’s a lottery, pure and simple. Some, like above, have had engines that would have gone to the moon & back, others have had them fail from low mileage upwards. Mine failed at ~260k km. Risk vs consequences, small risk but only OP can assess the likely consequences.

With that age it will prob also need a new oil pump as they have a habit failing and taking the engine with them. Have a search on oil pump failures, lots on here.
