A few months back I swapped to my ‘spare’ key as the buttons on the fob of the original were worn away. I sourced a replacement case off eBay and replaced the inners in the new fob. My only problem was that the blank blade supplied with the fob was slightly different to the original so I could not replace it with the ‘key’. I chose to cable tie the original key blade to the new fob and whilst it worked I decided to relegate it to ‘spare’.
Today I mislaid my key and grabbed the spare, the fob unlocked fine but on inserting the key blade, nothing! It’s like the immobiliser’s kicked in.
Ideas?

The case needs to be close and alligned to the barrel so it can pic the code up.
It will prevent the starter if it’s not picking it up
