Checking which bolts are needed for front lower arms

My D3 is having both its lower front arms replaced with new items this Wednesday.

Should I buy 2 of these from AF or is it sufficient to just buy two outer bolts and wishbone bolts?

https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/afb05-di...4038-p.asp

They were done about 5 or 6 years ago but I can't remember what I bought at the time, so I probably got a full kit last time. I just bought some arms from another forum member without bolts and want to make sure before it goes to the garage.

The long bolt through the airstrut normally don't seize. Put nothing wrong with having a full kit.

I was not happy with the quality on the bolts from AF. Think it was bearmach? Bad quality on the exentric washer. Also read about someone pulling the treads on them, with the right torque applied.

Would buy LR bolts.

I think the kit is everything for both sides … but I too have had an issue with quality. considering putting one of the old bolts back in … already swapped the new washers back to the old ones.

It seems those with issues bought bolt kits separately.

I'll give the Eurospares bolts from island-4x4 a swerve too then, given the feedback on pattern parts. They're half the price of AF ones . Whatever the make though, prices for these 3 bolts + associated nuts and washers are nuts.

As the car's going in to the garage first thing on Wednesday, it looks like I'll need to get them direct from LR, assuming Taggarts have them in stock.

@Hardware17 what were the problems that lead you to swap the washers already and consider putting your old bolts back on?

Flimsy lugs in the loose washers and welded washer coming loose on one bolt.

Best to give Island 4x4 a swerve - dreadful customer service and communication is non existent. Anyone who’s had an issue with a part from them and tried to get aftersales service will probably know what I mean!

Cheers for all comments.

@Hardware17 I saw that post a while ago. In it Jubbly says the four new bolts and nuts can be had from LR for £35. Taggarts quoted me £117 for the parts in the AF bolt kit excl. hub nuts.

Do you or anyone know what part numbers or items he means? The AF photo makes no sense, it shows more nuts than itemised. I expect the hub nut isn't really needed, especially as I had both front hubs replaced this year.

If I can get the essentials needed from this lot direct from LR for about £35 as Jubbly says I'll go with that as doubt I'll get them shipped by tomorrow now.

Anyone able to cross out what I don't really need below?

RDI000034 Bolt x 2
RYF000203 Washer x 2
CDU1534L Hub Nut x 1
FX116056 Nut x 3
WA116106 Washer x 2
RYG000440 Bolt x 1

Good idea. Should have thought of that.

Thanks.
