AFAIK all IIDs work on “all” models. There isn’t a model specific one.
When you plug it to a new vehicle it seems download some more stuff from GAP and I guess stores it on the dongle itself - at least mine did that when I connected it to the D4 and later to the D3. It doesn’t happen in subsequent connection attempts.
It might also make sense to upgrade the IIDtool software version if you’re running an old one. Instructions can be found on GAP’s site.

I found one quite cheap but it says Landrover/Range Rover
Can I be cheeky and ask how cheap “cheap is, and where from?
Assuming it wasn’t a one off....

250 but I would
Rather pay for someone do it who has one tbh as it’s easier and be cheaper as won’t need it after that as I have a Delphi and that does everything else I need

That is a helluva lot cheaper.
If I’ve learned anything over the last couple of weeks, these things are borderline essential, but I haven’t gotten a feelcfor which gives the best bang for buck tho’ most here seem sold on IID

Could always give Martin a call at Alymer Motors in Potters Bar. He will do it for you but not sure for how much. Can’t be an hours work so won’t cost a fortune I wouldn’t have thought. He paired me spare key for not a lot of money. Good guys and know their stuffJames favourite hobby is writing in the third person.
