Fuel gauge drops to 0 then back up?

Our Disco 3 did it once about 2 years ago as a "one off" but now happened 6 or 7 times today alone.

The fuel low/level bongs and fuel gauge drops to 0 when there is say 180 mile range.

Had been told fault could lie in wire loom passing in N/S rear wheel-arch.

Anyone else had this problem?

Car drives normal etc whilst doing it so not an issue with breakdown etc.

Happy New Year by the way šŸ˜„

That is a possibility, Iā€™m sure disco-Mickey had a post about it. The other possibility is a fuel tank sender, there are two in the tank.

Mine did that, was a wire that had rubbed on the chassis just behind the front drivers wheel.
