What Diagnostic Tool should I get: IIDTool or Nanocom
Hi,
I apologize for posting this if this topic already exists.
Wanting to purchase a good diagnostic tool. Seems like the IIDTool and the Nanocom units are good enough for my needs.
Refresh the ECU's
Verify the sensors
Individually control the sensors
CCF files
Diagnostics for the ECU's
Personally, I would like to get a Faultmate unit but cost is high and it seems the other units meet my requirements. What additional advantages would I get with a Faultmate?
Thanks

IID BT. More than paid for itself with my first D4 and has been very useful with the D3.
I've owned both - I still own the IID; I no longer own the Nanocom. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

And don't forget that Gap's service is great with 3000+ miles between us, you are almost local
so that can only improve.

I've used one of the bluetooth IID plug ins in the past (only about £30 I think) - will these not work on the D3 or is it that all they do is report back but not enable you to actually do anything active via it?formerly Disco3Ben
I have a Nanocom for my TD5 but have ordered a IID BT for the D3 rather than buy the unlock (£200 odd plus £60 for a different cable)Pete

My Nanocom has, so far, done everything I've needed it to do on my D3, and that's actually quite a lot.
The support is a bit sketchy, but their Forum does get some answers.
If I was starting from scratch I would probably go with the IID, but it is hard for me to justify the cost whilst I already have the Nanocom.
Nasher.Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.
With a Group Buy price available on this very forum it is a no brainer for the IID BT
Just got mine and will be plaguing the forums in questions soon and diagnosing which of my injectors are goosed!! ------------------------------
