Need a new engine sourced and fitted as per the above, anyone have any suggestions?.
A few on eBay but not sure I like that route so would prefer a recommendation 👍.

It's all my fault. I just thought couple of days ago that it was a bit quiet on the camshaft crankshaft front.
Hope you get it fixed without too much financial pain.

It's quiet on the camshaft front.
It's the crankshaft front that's lively (laughing at DSL by the way. Rubbish situation to be in with the engine)
Best of luck getting it sorted

Was the vehicle serviced at 24,000 km or shorter interval? And at LR dealers? If so, you should approach LR for a goodwill claim--

I try to find out which years are affected by the crankshaft failure. Sofar I eloped as my 2006 TdV6 was born before the defect started [ correct ?] .
I am thinking of getting a second D4/RRS2 as the D5 I can only cater for a 4 cylinder..
But I'dont want to buy into future disaster also. Does anybody know if more recent engines are 'safe' in this respect ?

Dan, best to stay away from the T/SDV6. rather get the petrol or the TDV8--
