Can anyone recommend the next size up from the standard 255 x 55 R19 setup without need for additional modifications? Previously I've gone up one step on either the 255 (to 265) or the 55 (to 60).
However, none of my preferred tyres seem to be available in those sizes.
So what 255 or 265 size tyre on a 19" rim do I need to fill the arches without mods or the tyres rubbing on full lock...if any?Tony

255 60 19 next step up. Seems a relative newish size and is used on new RRS and D5.
However choice very limited, mainly road only biased.
Coopers offer the WSC Weathermaster in this size and that is about the only other choice from a completley road bias tyre, but beleive the weight rating may fall a little short.
With 19's more choice in standard 255 55 size and thats not great.D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

Hi all, rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd tack onto the end of this one!
I've recently bought a 2013 D4 XS on 19s from a friend.
Front tyres - both Scorpion Zeros and are basically on the wear indicators
Rear tyres - one of the rears (Wrangler HP A/W) is 2mm off the wear indicator, the other rear (Scorpion Zero) has about 1mm left before the wear indicator. Why the rears are different I don't know!
Sooooo....
Car is used 95% on the road as we basically bought it for it's load capacity, although I would like to do owners off road days or similar since we have it Decent winter performance is required as we live a little bit in the sticks and plan on doing trips to the Alps etc in winter. What's the best way forward here?
1) replace the 2 fronts with Scorpion Zeros, wait for the rears to wear out then do them with Scorpion Zeros as well?
...or...
2) Replace the 3 Scorpion Zeros with Wrangler HP A/W to match the existing Wrangler on the rear?
...or...
3) Replace all 4 tyres with...<insertsuggestionhere>?
Basically I'm loath to chuck away a serviceable Wrangler on the rear unless there's a good reason, and presumably you shouldn't really run mixed tyres.
Any help much appreciated
Final thought, the fronts and are heavily worn on the edges (especially outside edges), is this normal? Looks like they may have been run under inflated?

if it was me I'd change all at the same time and have 4 of the same on the vehicle.
You say the Wrangler is 2mm off the wear indicator so probably about 4mm remaining in which case while still legal i'd be looking to change.
Worth remembering that in most of Europe the limit for M&S tyres in Winter is 4mm as below that you start to reduce tyre performance quite dramatically.
As to which tyre to go for i'd say it's pretty much down to personal preference. I've got Zeros on my D4, albeit 20's and have no issues with them. I've also used Wranglers on a D4 at work and they're equally as good.
Welcome to the forum by the way

I have the Cooper Weathermaster's on my Wifes D3 and they are brilliant and look great too. She is used mainly locally so this is a good all year choice for her as we get snow/ice in the Chilterns.
Having said that she has 20" wheels..

Very useful (essential) to have the Mountain snowflake symbol if you travel to Europe in winter...

Saw them when looking for new tyres. Reviews I've read are good but I'm interested in comfort as well.
I'm about to go to 18" rims and want something a bit stronger than the OEM Goodyear Wranglers which split a sidewall at a slight bump against a kerb. My usage is predominantly city but I'd like the ability to go off road with more confidence than I have with the Wranglers.
Looking for an A/T tyre that has some comfort as my wife has a lot of problems with bumps that cause her grief. So far looked at Hankook Dynapro AT-M RF10s and Bridgestone Dueller A/T D697s
I've got a 2013 D4 with 19" rims ATM.

Mario 149 - if you are going to the Alps in winter then you need winter tyres with the little snowflake/ three peaks symbol. Some AT tyres do have this marking, but not all do.D4 2010 Nara Bronze
