Drivers door lock odd behaviour

If I use the key fob once to lock the car all the doors lock bar the drivers and the alarm is set.

If I push the fob again same.

But if I push it a 3rd time the drivers door locks too

Is this a thing? If so my drivers door has been unlocked for 2 years now

With a bit more experimentation I wonder if I have the same problem as in this video.

The little lock leaver by the internal door handle does not function like the others in the car. The others have 2 positions on a rocker. The drivers door leaver is non committal.

I guess that the drivers door lock is not meant to be different??

Yep, I had this little plastic lever fail and I couldn't Unlock the Door from inside the car.

A new lock actuator was $300 Au, but I found the plastic lever on eBay, delivered for $30Au ( from Eastern Europe)

The root cause of the problem is not the lever breaking, the problem is the resistance in the latch internals that develops overtime from the drying out of the lubricant.

I fitted the new plastic lever and it made zero difference, I had to pull apart the locking mechanism and grease up all the moving parts to free up all the internals and then it worked

This imho is another thing that should be on the service schedule, but is just left to fail due to the lack of lubrication

Tripe, do you have a link for the plastic part?

Just be aware there are 2 types, one for LHS doors and the other for RHS doors, make sure you order the proper one.

I found this on the British eBay site, looks like its a bit closer to $22au, (thanks Brexit)

NO problem Caveman

The electrical unit separates from the mechanical latch pretty easy, you need spilt
The electrical drive mechanism in half to access all
The gears, to lubricate them, make sure you take
A few pictures during this process, in case you can't
remember how it all goes back together.

Also, it's a major pain in Censored to detach the cable from the outside handle that connects to the lock actuator, its 1000% easier, to detach the outside handle from the door and remove actuator, with the outside handle + cable still attached.

Is it possible to see if the white plastic lever has broken with just the door card off, or do you have to take the actuator out before you can see?

Replaced the lock and all works again. I followed the instructions found on this site so thanks. The trick of removing the external window lower gutter was invaluable to gain access to the tabs that hold the window to the actuator. Real easy to release once that was done. All in 90 min work
