After my request for an instruction manual for the kitchen and utility room was met with derision, I headed off to google to see if I could get an idea on this "washing machine" lark.

Our machine has about twenty settings, of which my wife uses two - three at a push. Researching things and reading the manual only results in derision and frustration.
