Malissa Franzen to Weird Secondhand Finds That Just Need To Be Shared
2 hrs ·
I am turning off posting for a few hours today, but we will still be reviewing and approving posts that are already pending. In the meantime please read this very important PSA.
Hello my lovely weirdlings,
It’s been a while since I made a post about our rules and standards regarding behavior within the group, and since we have so many new members, I think it’s about time for a refresher.
Group rule number one is “Don’t Be A Jerk,” so your best course of action, both here and in your daily life, is to adhere to the old adage “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” We will not tolerate, EVER, any sort of phobic, sexist, racist, predatory, or shaming comments. This community supports all walks of life, except being an asshole(sorry for the language mom). I will address these topics individually below and explain what kind of consequence you can expect if you are caught violating this rule.
Phobic comments: banned from the group on the first violation
Sexist comments: banned from the group on the first violation
Racist comments: banned from the group on the first violation
Shaming comments, including tagging or sharing to a shaming page: banned from the group on the first violation. This includes sex and kink shaming. Sex workers perform a service for their communities and their job is not easy. You don’t get to belittle them for it.
Predatory/creepy comments - meaning a comment sexualizing the OP: banned from the page on the first violation. And ladies, this means you too, if it’s creepy for a man to make that comment on a woman’s post, then it’s creepy for you to make it on a man’s post.
Also please make note that the focus of your comments should be on the item and/or story that goes along with it, so if you choose to comment on the looks of the poster instead of the item, you are violating group rule number one. Saying “you look cute” is totally fine. If you comment something like “That looks hideous on you” or “eww, you have cellulite” or “I’d tap that.” You can expect that you will not be a member of this group for much longer.
Any person who goes about behaving in a way that is designed to lessen the joy that others experience here, will be removed.
Part Two: What should you do if you see these behaviors?
USE THE REPORT TO ADMIN FUNCTION. It sends out the bat signal to the entire admin team, and only the admin will know you reported something. Group rule number two is “Don’t Engage With Jerks.” Please please please just use the report to admin function on any troublesome comments and we will happily look into it, but DO NOT respond to them. We know it can be difficult not to react to someone who is being a jerk, but if you do, you will probably find yourself muted. In a case like this the muting is not intended to be a punishment, it is used as a forced cooling down period so that the situation stops spiraling downward and we can get it dealt with. The exception here is if you go to a jerk’s profile and post a screenshot, quote, or photos from there into the comments. This is harassment and is not much better than whatever the jerk themselves has done, and it will get you banned from the group along with the jerk. When you respond to jerks, you are giving them exactly what they are after. Their comments are designed specifically to elicit angry reactions and stir up drama, don’t give it to them. As outlined above, we are totally happy to take out the trash, we just need you to report the people who are littering.

There are two rules for success,
1. Never tell everything you know.
