With 265/70/17 tyres (around 31.5" to 32.5" depending on manufacturer), you'll get a slight rub in the front of the rear wheel well - there's a raise in the wheel-well plastic there that covers a metal seam. Those without front bull-bars have noted some rubbing in the front as well. Taller tyres than 32.5" don't seem possible without some serious modification. As for width, as long as you keep the diameter down below 32", it seems 295 (as you've tried) is probably the limit.
