Hi, just a quick question my yellow brake warning light has just come on and having had the rears done earlier in the year when I had my epb repaired I presume its the fronts that need changing.The question is that when i put my foot on the brake the warning light goes out and when I remove my foot off the brake it comes back on saying check pads, is this normal ? Thanks in advance The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

Not the norm but you never know with Land Rovers Just for now strip the wires back and twist them together to see if that put the light out. You should still have some pads left anyway.
Dont forget its only on one side Mark...

one wire is probably touching the disc when the brake is applied and earthing it.
It's not worth getting your hands dirty. If the pads look low, get um changed in january

There's a quick and easy way to fool the system: The wires inside the sensor cable need to be shorted/connected for the system to think the pads are OK. Just take a stapler (i.e. a common office stapler), and put a couple of staples through the sensor cable. The odds are pretty good that with one or two staples you will get the internals shorted. When you get the new sensors/clips, the cable gets replaced anyway. Mine's had staples through for about a year now....I check my pads manually, not worth the hassle of the sensor
New front pads fitted today Thanks for the help chaps The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
