Steering Wheel refurb - not the posh leather one |
|
I have what looks to be a plastic/rubber type steering wheel on my GS. It's pretty minging - in the cold weather it gets sticky and sort of grains up. (It doesn't look like it's a build up of dirt/grease, more like th wheel is degrading)
I've seen a lot of threads about restoring the leather wheels, but has anyone got any recommendations for sorting out the cheapy wheel?
Other option I'm thinking of is getting a leather wheel off ebay.. really don't want to spend much cash on it as it's our camping/dog/tip run car

If its the rubber version wipe it down a magic eraser sponge from the pound shop which will remove all crud and grease and sticky residue
It wont make it like new but it will be much more pleasant to the grip
Dry off with a microfibre cloth and repeat exercise until non sticky ....................................................................................................
If my wife ever sells my stuff for what she thinks I paid for them, you lot are gonna get some bargains!
