dont know if the supplies that go to the footwell lights may be the best option , haven't got any fitted on mine
or maybe off the battery with a switch for a simple solution

Just waiting for my striplights to arrive, but contemplating putting under the bonnet via a fused link from either battery or fuse box with a switch of some sort to manually switch on after lifting bonnet.

that's what i thought , as an easier way , wire off the battery, into a fuse box, switch then onto the light
would u be so kind to put up some pics when you've done it please
been looking on amazon for a very slim led light, but not fixing it onto the inside of the bonnet as i was worried about when u slam the bonnet down , it comes off and ends up on top of the engine or fan
would be interesting to see how others install the light
maybe something like this, don't know if it would give enough light fixed to the bulkhead , or some smaller ones fixed around the engine bay ???

many thanks

The option I went with is to use an LED inspection lamp that can be plugged into a 12v socket.
I fitted a marine 12v under the bonnet wired via a fused feed into my Aux battery.
This means I have a lamp I can clip pretty much anywhere and also use in the boot fitted 12v sockets.
The lamp stores easily into one of the boot pockets. I see no ships........

reminds me must get some boxes for the back, have some strops and shackles , so there not loose in the boot
like the idea of fitting a cig lighter connector off the battery ,
