Parking Brake - Renewing shoes but can't get do it!

Hi,

I am renewing my parking shoes on a 2005 Disco. I have followed the haynes manual, line by line. The shoes are on the hub, but, the bottom spring (the strong one!) I can't stretch to reach the hold in the other shoe.

I have tried putting the spring on both shoes then installing but I can't align the shoes correctly this way.

How did you guys get the spring on the parking shoes on??

any help, car in bits... again Wink

Follow the brake bible, but for the spring, attach it to both halves and then put on the car. It's almost impossible to stretch the big spring and get it to fit on the car.

Thanks - I did read the brake bible, maybe I have and old version as it does not cover the parking show replacement?

Damn good job whoever wrote the bible. Amazing bit of work.

Bodsy is certainly the brake guru. I would love his input to a thread I started involving a D4 EPB issue which showed some differences between the Brake Bible and a LR Workshop Manual.
