Several months ago after wading through a deep ford i started getting suspension error "gallery not venting" when attempting to go down to access height, I bought a kit from the Internet to refurb the compressor but as always never found the time to do the work.
Yesterday during a flash flood I attempted to return to normal height after going through a flooded road and nothing happened and the orange then red suspension warning light came on, typical its hacking it down but I needed to fix the problem, fortunately all the air lines came off easy but the dreaded top bolt holding the compressor was a to remove but it did come off.
This is what was under the dryer cap quite a bit of fine powder
Once I removed the first filter I could see that the beads were long past there best
I tipped most out but there was a hardened mass in the bottom that took a lot of scraping to remove
Once I got all this out I removed the felt pad that was solid and black then replaced this with a new one from the kit before filling with new beads
I then fitted the new felt filters and the new end cap that came in the kit
This is the kit they supplied
I then removed the piston and replaced the ring and put new seals in, re fitted to car and now all works perfectly and much faster I'm amazed it didn't burn out as it was almost blocked solid all sorted in 2-3 hours

Hi,
I am just thinking about doing this myself so was very pleased to see your post.
Can you give some in sight on changing the rings and seals on the piston?
How do you rate the kit and its instructions?
Cheers, Jerry
