Genuine or OEM ? How to tell? |
|
I have just splashed out on a new prop shaft in the hope it resolves my "pod racer" sound and noise like driving over cats eyes. Given the issues I have had with britpart I decided to buy genuine LR through LRParts.net BUT... when it was delivered there was no delivery note and the prop shaft is unmarked i.e. no product code etc.
Anyone know how to distinguish a genuine LR prop shaft from and aftermarket?

from what I understand, having bought a Britpart one, the Genuine ones are made by GKN. The Britpart one was a GKN. and it was a lot cheaper.

As Downhiller said. That was my understanding when mine arrived. It has been fine so far. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

I stock genuine LR and the alternative from GKN, the only difference to us is the LR is pre boxed by them, the GKN one we have to provide a box. If they are the real deal they will have GKN markings stamped in the end case. Paul Redding

Which goes to prove that LR specify only the finest quality acid-free cardboard for their packaging.
