MAF sensor

Does the 3 litre MAF sensor fit and work on a 2.7?

Moo, just out of interest, what were the symptoms and fault codes that confirmed the old one had died?
 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

The codes are:

P0046
P1335
P0046
P0405

EGRs are blanked.

All the pipes are new and the actuator arm moves freely without any issues. I used to get a yellow Engine Mangement Warning when it was the weather was cold and a drop in power until i dipped the clutch and drpooed the revs then it was ok. This always happened in the first 5 miles but now the weather is warmer this doesn't happen.

The car drives ok but I am getting black smoke which was more noticable when towing the caravan. I think it is either the MAF or the turbo, which is original.

About 4 years ago, I had a similar problem with mine. It was OK until I added load and then had the engine fault and loss of power. After much head scratching and diagnostics with multimeter and regular input from Robbie, my issue was also with the MAF sensor; for some reason it had no power supplied to it as fuse 17 was missing in the main fuse box beside the battery. I can imagine the symptoms would be the same if the fuse had blown.

May be worth a check of the fuse. So far I have heard of three other D3's with the same issue. How they work without the fuse for years and then throw faults I have no idea.

The fuse was fine but I took the MAF out and cleaned it with MAF spray cleaner. WOW! What a difference. The throttle response is so much sharper and power is back to where it should be. Very happy and a simple fix. Very Happy

It's a special fluid in an aerosol can. I got it off eBay. Also have a look on you tube. Lots of info.

Moo , glad it's fixed. I will take a look at my MAF sensor. I can't see how, being between straight after the air filter it can get dirty.

That was my thinking but it was suprising how dirty it was. I supose after 190k it was to be expected.
