Battery going again?
Car had a good 600 mile run 8 days ago so battery should have been fully charged then.
Used her a couple of times for short trips last week and a few unlock/locks to put stuff in/take out stuff from the car. Short (6 miles) to the gym this morning and noticed on shutting down the ignition my cheap ciggie lighter display said 11.5V. She started fine for the return journey couple of hours later but got low power mode on the stereo and the ciggie display only lifted from 12.4v to 13.4v after 1/2 mile urban driving, but didn't get above that for the rest of the way. If battery was low would expect to see 15.something, wonder if the new aux battery was propping the cranking one up. Car is now on charge, will see how quickly that happens.
Battery issue? Battery's about 17 months old but was wondering if the dying alternator had damaged the battery before I realised there was a problem and DM changed the alternator last December. Hoping not alternator.
Thoughts oh wise ones?

I'm not wise enough
At least you know where to get a good value battery though
If it didn't lift from 12.4 for a bit that doesn't sound good, though don't expect 15V in these temperatures. See how it goes once it's charged.
At least the alternator is under warranty. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

True, re alternator. With impending RoadTrip (~6.3k miles) kicking off in 3 weeks, getting nervious.

Hmmm, after 30 mins it's already changed from "conditioning" to "rapid charge", usually takes a lot longer to do that. Fine if it's just the battery that's knacked, that's easy and cheap to fix. Can have one here tomorrow. Might have a hand link somewhere.

That could also be why your starter is a bit iffy DSL, I remembered that you had replaced your battery not that long ago, and after a long run you had done, I discounted the battery / alternator as the problem. Have you had starter replaced yet?D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. Just been chatting with SWMBO re the starter and remembered it's been chirping for about a year now, first started in NW Sweden on last year's jolly. That would be well before alternator started to die. Weak batt prob isn't helping but don't think it's the only thing that's going on.
Will crack on with the new starter tomorrow and get a battery on order in the next few days. I don't want to limit my travels in July to just tarmac with a mobile signal, will be nice to drag the old girl a little off the beaten track.
