Thinking of buying a 2008 d3

Hi my dad is looking at buying a 2008 d3 tdv6 and a few people say they not as good as the pre 2007 models so is there anything to look out for or get done straight away that's different to my 56 plate d3?
Thanks in advance
Steve

Make sure it's got an uprated oil pump. A quick search will give you plenty info

Any reason why they think a 2008 is not as good as a pre 2007?

A 2007 may have the dodgy type oil pump and will be in the upper tax bracket also.

another reason that was maybe an advantage of the earlier models is that the egr v/vs could be blanked, but there is a method now to do this on the later models

More important to get a decent service history with a car that has obviously been looked after.

What type of mileage/spec/price car is it you are looking for as a bit of research into what has been done, what is due shortly etc should have more than a significant bearing on the purchase and the price you should pay.

Hi mine is a D3 on a 58 it's just turned over the 135000 travelled over two thousand miles in the last 2 weeks and hasn't missed a beat
Its serviced regular and I try to maintain it to the best of my ability, only major problem has been the EGR valves but had them blanked and patch applied
Would put my car up against any of the others I have owned and would say hands down this is the best
