Does anyone know where I could acquire some new mounting plates (the flat plate with 2 studs in the upper right of the diagram that slide in the channel rail) for my Expedition Roof Rack? I've now broken 2 studs off leaving me with 25% less mounting points.
New or used, let me know where?

Maybe get some T bolts and use them. Think you'll be lucky to get any originals.
Ask Uncle Ray. They are almost identical to part of his antenna mount. (Forum name - RLD)A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

I'm considering drilling out the studs and placing high tensile bolts through it.Dave

How did you go I need same thing?MY2010 D4 HSE 3.0, e-diff, 19inch MTR's; LLAMS Height adjustor, LR f & r light guards, LR side steps, LR bright finish side door mouldings; LR/Mantec G4 front bash plate, LR G4 Winch kit, Warn 9500lb Winch; GOE compressor guard, Uniden UHF, LR bright finish roof rails, LR G4 driving light kit, LR G4 ladder, 4 x extra rear compartment 12V sockets, Traxide dual battery system and Optima Yellowtop battery, ORS drawer system / fridge slide, LED rear compartment lighting.
I thought I had a solution with some Thule t-bolt mounts but turns out they are too narrow for the side rail slots and will spin, but they work great in the beams going across from rail to rail. So, either I need to weld some tabs onto these to make them longer in the channel to keep them from spinning or keep looking for another solution.1998 Discovery LSE - Gold, 249,000+ miles, completely stock

Larger t-bolts are used by solar panel fitters.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

expo counting plates - anybody find a solution
Hi - my mounting plates for the expo rack have broken bolts (2 out of 8) and if the previous owner over tightening some to 'snap off point' then what about the others? - looking for a solution - anyone solved this problem.
I am thinking of drilling out the bolts and repacking with high tensive bolts?
thanks

An engineer friend gave me the solution to my broken bolts that on the brackets. The bolts are called
Clinch studs and I have used a vice and socket to press out the studs and I have ordered new studs m6 x 20mm from RS Components . I will use a vice to press them in.

mounting plates
While I found the solution to the broken bolts on the expedition roof rack mountings - however, the clinch studs m6 x 20 available are not the same as used - the design is different, the separations are on the rim of the studs on mine and the ones available have the serration/indents under the flat top of the stud. So have just bid on the bay ones advertised - a new set.
