[For Sale] Discovery 3 Metropolis LE 2006 Reduced £11500
After owning my discovery for nearly two years I've upgraded and bought a discovery 4. Details as follows:
2006 Silver Discovery 3 Metropolis LE
Full service history and will come with 12 months mot for peace of mind.
Packed full of factory extras over and above a HSE
It has the iPod interface fitted from new.
Things I have added since owning the car are:
2014 Black rear lights
De tangoed headlights with led rings
2010 Discovery 4 hdd sat nav upgrade ( done by beanie)
Discovery 4 Steering Wheel with working buttons ect.
FBH with remote control
Rear Parking Camera
13 pin Land Rover tow electrics
Full colour coding of outside paint
Beanie front grill.
Of all the mods I have done I still have the original parts to go with the car, I would prefer to sell the car as it is so I think someone will get a cracking deal.
After buying the car I had the 7 year service done at Stratstone Land Rover
Serviced again in November so not due a service.
It's had a new compressor and new air lines fitted last year
New front air block valves
In the last three months it's had:
Two New front wheel bearings
Brand new front diff
V8 brake upgrade all round including discs and pads and carrier brackets from Disco Mikey
Last week had all the wheels refurbed with matching Pirelli Scorpion Zero tyres with excellent tread and new silver and black wheel centres.
This week the car has had:
New rear bushes
New rear brake pipes
New rear door locking mechanism
New washer bottle
New mot
The car has 96000 miles on the clock and I'm the 5th owner.
It is in very good condition in my opinion and is fault free and very well looked after, what ever it has needed it has had.
There is a few age related marks but as you will see from the photos it's a very nice example and gets comments where ever it goes.
The drivers seat has a small tear in the usual place which I have shown in the photo
The front mud guards have some paint peeling off from road rash ect.
I'm asking £11500 for the car which I think is a fair price considering all the work I have put into it. It is also a limited edition as I'm sure all you know.

You have to remember that most people here already have a Discovery, so your pool of potential buyers is pretty small.

Looks like a cracking vehicle, exactly what I'm looking for - but sadly I've got a Disco 2 to trade in, so that pretty much rules me out of buying privately.

It's been advertised privately for £2.5k, but I haven't had any bites. The MOT is up at the end of June, so I want to get it traded in before then. (For info, it's a 2001 Y-plate TD5 GS with 7 seats and 140k miles.)

Car has now got 12 months mot. It failed on rear bushes and rear brake pipes. Obviously they have been replaced and the car is as good as new again waiting for its new owner.
It's looking more likely the car is going to be part exchanged early next week so I'm open to offers. I would love to see this go to a fellow enthusiast

As has been said, most people on here already have a Disco. Mine was recently on here for a week without any interest being shown. Put an add on Autotrader and sold to the first caller within a day and also received a few more calls before I removed the add.
If you're selling privately I still think Autotrader captures the best audience. Got £3k more than the offer from WBAC so not sure where they get the figures from in their advert Discovery 4 HSE
