just done all my fluids
front diff 0.61 litres of Castrol syntrax long life 75w-90 , rear diff 1.1 litres
manual gearbox I used titan santofluid 75w-80 takes 1.6l
glad I did them, all very dirty
good vids on utube but all very simple
my advice get a syringe tube to pump back the oils as fill holes are near impossible using the bottle
use the correct volume, using a measuring cylinder, and always remove the filler plugs before you undo the drain plugs to make sure you are able to refill before dumping the oil
Easy DIY and will surely help the longevity....................................................................................................

many thanks. I only ask the question as I ordered everything for forum sponsor AF and they have supplied Castrol Syntax for both diffs and Gearbox. and I'm not sure Syntax is okay for the gearbox.
Any thoughts!!Joined Aug 2014. Disco 3 SE 54plate, Buckingham Blue, Cream leather.

I took my lead on oil types and specs from opie oils and another forum member who posted a good how to on the forum
I do know that syntrax and the fuchs titan gearbox fluids that were supplied are different weights though but cannot claim to know if this is right or wrong sorry, I just used the recommended

as mentioned I used the Castrol for the diffs but Fuchs titan on the gearbox
try the search function on manual gearbox oil change on here, im sure there will be other posters confirming it suitability. A quick double check with AF in the morning im sure will reassure you, they have great feedback and would unlikely make a mistake....................................................................................................

My original question was pronated by the quantity supplied by the good guys at AF. I received 3 x 1ltrs bottles. requirements as follows; 0.61ltr front diff + 1.1ltr rear diff + 1.5 gearbox = 3.21ltrs. I was a bit concerned I hadn't ordered enough oil, so I didn't get to do the rear diff. I used LR2 IYK500010G transmission oil for the transfer box.
In summary Syntrax Long Life used in front diff and gearbox for now, will do the rear diff once I gat another ltr.Joined Aug 2014. Disco 3 SE 54plate, Buckingham Blue, Cream leather.

Castrol say it is for manual gearboxes, why do you think it isn't suitable?
