Mileage

Just out of interest whilst I'm still finding my feet. What sort of mpg do people get from a new 3.0 sdv6?

Day to day?
Towing?
and does it change once run in?

We only do about 5k a year so mpg isn't an issue, so far I've found 20mpg towing tintent and 25ish other driving to include some motorway/round town. Less than 1k miles on the clock.

Your figures a not far off... You would get more on longer runs, is yours short runs?,

but at only 5k a year i wouldn't be worrying at what mpg i'd be getting...
If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

After about 16,500 miles in my 16MY D4 its settling down to a long term average of around 28mpg on the trip comput although, comparing this with the old fashioned method of brim to brim refilling over 1,000 miles, the trip computer is proving optimistic by around 2mpg to 2.5mpg.

I didn't notice any improvement in mpg from running in until the mileage that I have now.

I've just seen Grunder's post and I agree Thumbs Up

Even doing 30-35,000 miles per annum, it's still worth it! Very Happy At 5,000 miles a year it's a no brainer Very Happy

I did a trip up to North Shields the other week and since I wasn't in a rush, I reset the trip and put the cruise on at 60mph to see what I could get the lie-o-meter to say.

36.4mpg!!!

I came home at my usual pace which soon brought things back to normal though; around 29-30 mpg. Laughing

I get 28.5 avg (computer reads 33 mpg) mainly a mix of country roads and motorway, not much urban these days.
