Clutch slipping
Clutch is just starting to slip! noticed it last weekend with caravan on the back for Easter, if I just touch the pedal when shes pulling in a high gear it slips and it slips a little when I change gear, never mind it will keep me out of trouble next weekend. Going to fit all the lot.

Can you not get at top bell housing bolts with 1/2 bars? woody did you take the transfer box off first? The pedal is right at the top so it is on it's last legs plus at 117000 and no history of having a new one. I put a new turbo on a few months ago so front pipe and the turbo bracket will come off easy.

Morning Trev no left the transfer box on,I found the 3/8 gave me that little bit more movement but I'm sure 1/2" will be fine if that's all you have Wanted D4s non runners pm for competitive price.

What did you lift it with? how heavy would you say it is? thinking of getting a transsmision jack, I have 3/8 just thought 1/2 would be stronger if they are tight.

Not sure on the weight but I managed with a trolley jack put that just in front of the transfer box with the jack handle going towards the back of the car so you room to get under the bell housing to lift/Guide it in/out,a transmission jack would obviously be better if you can get hold of one
Check your breather pipes on the box once it's out if there easy to twist/move on there fittings replace with a new bit of pipe or and a jubilee clip Wanted D4s non runners pm for competitive price.

Gearbox is out, changed clutch, bearing and fly wheel, old clutch was not as bad as i though it would be, lots of life left in it I thought it would have been down to the rivets, try to get box back in this afternoon that is going to be fun! why could they not have put the cross member a couple of inches forward.

gibbo it has done 17000 2005 D3 manual, clutch looked o/k think it was down to the flywheel being worn, I was told when I bought it that the clutch had been done but I dont think they had changed the flywheel, but it's all new now.
