Intermittent normal ride height available.

Since our first MOT 6 weeks ago we have had the message normat ride height available come up intermittently, the first time was leaving the MOT station! Went straight back but like a Censored I switched off the car, when the technician came out it had cleared. I can still raise and lower the car, SWMBO drives the car and has tried to function the suspension when the warning comes up and it won’t move. Car booked in to the stealers on Friday, just looking to tap into the vast knowledge base on here.

We are having this with the wife’s Disco currently, been diagnosed as the compressor on its way out, when it triggers the fault it is getting too hot there should be a stored fault code.

I had noticed the compressor getting louder recently as well.

I need to get a claim into Warranty Wise to see if they will pay for the new compressor

Had this and was a failing compressor.
How old is your car? Mine is 2013MY with 70,000 km (40,000 miles). Would have expected a compressor to last much longer than that.

Yep, definitely the compressor is failing. Although you can trigger "normal ride height only" if you higher and lower the car too many times in quick succession, a device to stop things getting too hot. Don't know what year yours is, but the early D4's had a compressor that was more prone to failing and the later ones not so much. Don't know what year they changed them though. The good news is that the later one will fit earlier models.

Had the same thing and it was the compressor. Get the stealers to check for any air leaks whilst its in.

Yep, I get this when car has sat idle for a few days and I've jumped in and used air suspension quickly as there is no air in reservoir. Once tank has been filled normal service is resumed.

Will do, is three years the lifespan of a compressor?

From my experience of using the system a lot, no, but I don't know about everyone else.

Hi Scottydog
Be interested to see how you get on with this, is it a warranty repair?
Thumbs Up OJ
